Beyoncé Knowles is 'proud' her daughter is growing up in a world where there are so many strong women.
The singer and her husband Jay-Z welcomed their first child into the world in January. Their daughter is called Blue Ivy and Beyoncé is determined that she will grow up to be a fearless, independent woman.
The star has written an open letter to US First Lady Michelle Obama on her website, in which she praises her for being a fantastic role model.
'Michelle, thank you so much for every single think that u do for us ' I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to (sic),' she wrote.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are known to be big supporters of US President Barack Obama, having recently attended a fundraiser in his honour.
The singer has been impressed with the way Michelle has juggled raising two daughters with living in the public eye.
'Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. She is a caring mother, she's a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!!,' she wrote.
'No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope ' she's humble, loving and sincere (sic).'
